FIRST FOLIO! THE BOOK THAT GAVE US SHAKESPEARE

The Folger Shakespeare Library and the National Endowment for the Humanities are sending Shakespeare’s First Folio on a national tour to all 50 states. Join us on a day trip to Kansas City to visit the Missouri stop of this exciting exhibition.

Bus departs from Shakespeare Glen, Forest Park

Cost: $55

This full-day trip to Kansas City will include transportation, bus ride discussions led by Artistic & Executive Director Rick Dildine and former Managing Director Lana Pepper, special group tours of the First Folio exhibit, and more! The bus will return to Shakespeare Glen in time for the evening’s performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and guests are invited to stay for the show. Boxed dinners and reserved performance seating are available for purchase.

SCHEDULE

7:00 a.m. – Depart Shakespeare Glen.
9:00 a.m. – Snacks, with a discussion led by Artistic & Executive Director Rick Dildine.
11:30 a.m. – Arrive in Kansas City. The group will disperse for lunch; a list of recommendations will be provided.*
12:30 a.m. – Tours of the First Folio exhibit, the Kansas City Library, and costume exhibit “Setting the Stage” begin.
2:30 p.m. – Depart Kansas City.
7:00 p.m. – Arrive in Shakespeare Glen; pick up boxed dinners and reserved seat tickets.
8:00 p.m. – A Midsummer Night’s Dream begins.

*lunch is not included in the cost of the trip.
