Shakespeare Glen is located in Forest Park, just off Fine Arts Drive on the east side of Art Hill between the Saint Louis Zoo and the Saint Louis Art Museum.

No tickets are necessary, and there are no gates to walk through.  The Festival is free and open to the public.

Open Seating

Our venue accommodates chair and blanket seating. Bring your own lawn chair or blankets to set up on the grass and enjoy the performance.

Reserved Seating

Reserved chairs will be available in the Glen again in 2018.  More information will be available about reservations closer to the event.

Blanket Seating

The section closest to the stage is blanket-only seating. Bring a blanket or sit on the grass. Stadium chairs (cushions with back support) are permitted, as long as the seat of the chair is fully on the ground. Please ask a member of our front-of-house staff if you are unsure whether your item is permitted in the blanket-only section.

Blue Star Theatre

There are nine entrances to Forest Park, including Hampton & Wells, Tamm Avenue bridge, Skinker & Wells, Skinker & Forsyth, Lindell at DeBaliviere, Lindell at Forest Park Parkway, Lindell at West Pine, Kingshighway at West Pine, Kingshighway at Oakland to Tamm. Be aware that traffic frequently backs up at the Hampton entrance to the Park. GOOGLE MAPS



As parking is in high demand during the Festival, we suggest arriving early.

Free parking:

• West Circle Drive Lot, west of the Saint Louis Art Museum. 4 min. walk
• Saint Louis Zoo lot on Government Dr., after the Zoo closes. 8 min. walk DETAILS
• Lots by the Muny and in front of the Forest Park Visitor’s Center. 20 min. walk
• Free street parking is available throughout Forest Park.

Paid & Reserved parking:

• Members of the Bard’s Society are entitled to reserve VIP parking in the East Circle Drive lot, east of the Saint Louis Art Museum. 1 min. walk
• The Saint Louis Art Museum’s underground Parking Garage. 2 min. walk DETAILS
• Saint Louis Zoo lot on Government Dr., before 6 PM. 8 min. walk DETAILS

Accessible parking is available in both the West and East Circle Drive Lots and in the Saint Louis Art Museum’s underground Parking Garage. Drop-off areas are located on Fine Arts Drive directly in front of the Art Museum. Be sure to lock your vehicle and keep valuables out of sight.

**Please Note: Parking will be unavailable in the Zoo Parking Lot on June 16 due to the Zoofari event.

25 min. walk – Forest Park DeBaliviere Station
The Forest Park DeBaliviere Station is the closest MetroLink stop to the Festival from either the Blue or the Red line. METROLINK PLAN YOUR VISIT


2-5 min. walk – Forest Park DeBaliviere Station
MetroBus #90-Hampton makes two stops within easy walking distance of Shakespeare Glen: at the corner of Government and Fine Arts Drives, and directly in front of the Saint Louis Art Museum. The #90 bus reroutes around Forest Park on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 9 AM to 5 PM; the route within Forest Park is covered by the Forest Park Trolley during these hours (see below). Forest Park Trolley

2 min. walk – Saint Louis Art Museum stop
The Forest Park Trolley stops a short distance from Shakespeare Glen, and is $2 for adults and $1 for children and seniors. A valid Metro Reduced Fare Permit is required for the Senior and Disabled discount. Kids four and under ride free. The Trolley runs from 9 AM to 7 PM. Be aware that Trolley service stops before the performance ends. TROLLEY MAP


There are bicycle racks located near the Gift Shop/Info tents and in front of the Art Museum. Please dismount your bike when in Shakespeare Glen. GOOGLE MAPS


Portable restrooms, including those that are handicap accessible, are set up along the bike path near the East Circle Drive parking lot.

Policies & FAQ


• It is always our hope to perform, so the decision to hold or cancel the show is rarely made before showtime (8 PM).
• In the event of inclement weather, performances may be delayed up to one hour. Should conditions persist, that evening’s performance may be canceled as a last resort. Updates will be posted on our social media sites. For up-to-the-minute information, call the Festival’s Rain Hotline (updated hourly between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. on performance nights) at 314.531.9800 x 7 CHECK THE CURRENT WEATHER

Lost and Found

• Lost and Found is located in the Administration Tent
• The Festival is not responsible for lost or stolen personal belongings

In the Glen

• All smoking and vaping is prohibited.This includes e-cigarettes, vaporizers, and all other electronic smoking devices.
• Trash and recycling receptacles are available.
• Picnics are welcome; picnic tables are located throughout Forest Park and the Glen.
• The Gift Shop and Concessions accept all major credit and debit cards.


• Well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome.

During the Performance

• Please keep aisles clear throughout the performance.
• Please remain seated during the performance.
• Please silence or turn off your cell phone during the performance and be respectful of your neighbors throughout the performance as the light from the screen can be very distracting.
• No photography, video, or audio recording of the performance is allowed.
