Shakespeare Festival St Louis - Junior Wills

Junior Wills

Junior Wills offers advanced acting and Shakespeare training for young artists ages 11-14. Students with a foundation in basic theatre performance may participate in the program, which meets in fall and spring semesters.

Students receive instruction in intermediate acting, Shakespeare text analysis and performance, voice and movement, and will perform Shakespearean speeches and sonnets. Junior Wills is an excellent way for young actors to start their educational journey with The Festival! More experienced young actors, ages 15-18, can continue their training in Shakespeare Squadron.

Appointments are now being made for Shakespeare Squadron auditions, which will be held on Friday, September 25 from 6-9 PM. Contact Michael Perkins at to schedule your audition.

Junior Wills Spring Performance – 2014

Admission to Junior Wills is by audition only. Students commit to a weekly session that meets through most of the school year (October-April). Four Saturday master classes with guest artists will also be offered as an optional, but encouraged, addition to the training. Instructors include experienced Festival Teaching Artists and guest instructors from distinguished theatre programs including Webster University, Washington University and Saint Louis University. Members expect to commit at least one hour a week outside of class to projects and assignments. Students in good standing at the end of the fall session are given priority casting in the spring performance workshop.
