Shakespeare Festival St Louis - In the Park

Shakespeare in the Streets: Blow, Winds

Based on the Bard’s King Lear

THE SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 PERFORMANCE OF BLOW, WINDS HAS BEEN POSTPONED.

It is with great pain that we must announce the difficult decision to postpone our final performance of Blow, Winds.  Throughout the weekend, we have been in constant communication with city officials to ensure we could maintain a safe space for our audience, while also allowing our public servants to adequately support the voices of the demonstrators across St. Louis.  As many other venues and events have determined, we cannot ensure that both of these things can occur.

Understand that we as artists share the incredible disappointment many of you are feeling today.  Our work here in St. Louis over the past year has been eye-opening in more ways than we thought possible, and although our production will not come to the stage this weekend, we remain committed to sharing this story with you. With that in mind, we are considering an alternative time and location to present Blow, Winds as an opportunity for our city to heal.

We thank you for your continued support of our mission.  We believe in this city and the power of art to bring us together more than ever before.
